Hello everyone!!!!

I’m so happy to be writing this from Papua New Guinea!!! We have spent the last 10 days in Port Moresby at Foursquare Church, and it’s been such a good time! They have a health clinic here and we’ve been serving at it each day! We’ve been doing all sorts of things here. In addition to the health stuff, we’ve been doing devotionals with the staff and patients and just interacting with people and praying with them. It’s been so fun to get to know the clinic staff here and learn all about the health system here and people’s experiences.

Outside of the clinic, we’ve been doing many other things around the church. We had the opportunity to lead a time of fellowship at a local prison. We have been attending and serving at fellowship nights - doing worship, giving messages, etc. On one very special night, we got to travel to a nearby village and join a family’s time of fellowship. It was one of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced!

There are lots of people who live at the church and are around and we’ve gotten to  meet all of them. There have been some really amazing times of just chatting, getting to know them, have fun with them, and fellowship with them. There’s a team of guys here who are always helping us with things. The people here have been so hospitable and it feels like such a gift to be able to come here and take part in what God is doing!

The church we’ve been at is short drive away from the Jetty campus, which is YWAM Townsville’s satellite campus in Port Moresby. We  have been able to connect with the people there and see some familiar faces! We’ve seen the YWAM Whitsundays and YWAM Norway teams that we met previously again here is PNG! Such cool connections! We cannot go too many places outside of the church campus, so our connections with the Jetty have been great to give us some other places we can go and ways to get there :)

Next up for us is going on the medical ship! We are all soooooooo excited!!!! It’s going to be such an amazing experience, really getting to learn so much and go so many places. We sail out on Friday night from Port Moresby out to Western Province. From there, it’s 3 weeks going village to village and running primary healthcare clinics, dental clinics, community engagement, and bible engagement.

Please pray for our continual health and safety and we continue our outreach! I will not really have any ability to contact people while on the ship. Praying for you all and sending the best everyone’s way!!

Just some of the highlights (there is so much I could go on forever about how it’s been here so far 😁😁)

  • Meeting the people, learning the culture, building people up and receiving their hospitality - so welcoming and generous!

  • Someone let us borrow a cajon and I’ve been able to play a few times, so fun!

  • Living with my team and just spending so much time together and bonding.

  • We had the opportunity to visit a local nature center and saw lots of cool animals!

  • We went to family taim at the Jetty, so cool to join our Townsville family from here!

  • I connected with a sweet lady named Kathy and I’ve loved chatting with her and learning about her!

  • We have our own little room where we are staying. Setting it up, cooking, cleaning, sleeping, eating, and hanging out there has been so fun!

  • The weather has been so nice! Rain is refreshing and cools everything down, and the sunshine is so pretty!

  • We’ve been able to drive around a little bit and saw more of the city as well as the ship.

  • Our base leaders were up in PNG for a few things and they decided to come visit us, such a nice surprise!

  • PNG songs!! We learned some before we came and have sung those and more so many times here, an absolute blast. So cool to learn in a new language too!

  • Trying new foods and interacting with the kids are always so fun!

  • I was trained on testing vision and providing glasses and I’m excited to use that on the ship outreaches and our last location!

  • Church services here!

  • We had a time celebrating and having lunch with all the clinic staff, I’m so thankful for them!

👋👋

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! He is the one I was talking about when I said, ‘A man is coming after me who is far greater than I am, for he existed long before me.’”

John 1:29-30
